Rick Famuyiwa of Dope Fame, Reportedly on Board for The Flash

The big screen version of The Flash reportedly has found a new director.

Rick Famuyiwa

According to Deadline, Dope Rick Famuyiwa will take the vacancy left by Pride & Prejudice and Zombies writer Seth Grahame-Smith. The Flash was intended to be his directorial debut, but he left the project in April citing “creative differences” with the studio.

The film will eventually star Ezra Miller as the big screen Barry Allen, who made a brief cameo in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and will make a formal debut in next year’s Justice League. It is said The Flash will use Grahame-Smith’s script based on earlier material from Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. But it is possible Famuyiwa may want to inject some of his ideas into the project.

The Flash is slated for release on March 16, 2018.
