5 Games We Can’t Wait to Play in January 2015

January 2015 has some amazing games lined up. 2014 was a super year for gaming overall, with amazing games releasing on pretty much all consoles and platforms, it’s now time to take a quick look at what’s coming up this month. Also stay tuned for our next article on the Most Anticipated Games of 2015! That’s coming up over the next couple of days.

Let’s get right to it…Here’s our list of 5 games we can’t wait to play in January 2015!!

#5. Grim Fandango Remastered

This is probably one of the most exciting remakes we’ve been waiting for, amongst other things of course. LucasArts originally released the game back in 1998, and it’s what some, if not most, call the pinnacle of ‘point and click’ adventure gaming. Fast forward to 2015, and they’re the game is being released, remastered in full HD by Double Fine Productions. For those of you who have played the game earlier, you’ll know why this was such a classic, but for those who haven’t had the chance to experience it, your time is now!

The project is being overseen by Tim Schafer, who will design the game from the ground up. So hopefully, any inconsistencies we had in the 90’s version, should be sorted out. All said and done, this is one game you do NOT want to miss!

The Game will release on 27th January, and will be available on the PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita

#4. Saints Row IV: Re-Elected

Finally! Saints Row, is coming to the next gen consoles with all their DLCs included! That includes the cut Saints Row the Third expansion, the Christmas themed mission pack and Gat out of Hell. If you’ve never played Saints Row, this would be a great reason to. While the game started off pretty much as a GTA: San Andreas clone, it bloomed in something much more awesome, especially in it’s latest iteration.

Unlike GTA, which is sort of based on some level of realism, that goes out the window entirely in Saints Row. While the video above is for Gat out of Hell, it really gives you an idea what the game is like. We’re looking forward to Saints Row IV, and can’t wait for it to get here sooner!

Saints Row IV: Re-Elected releases on 30th January, and will launch on the PS4 and Xbox One.

#3. Duke Nukem: Megaton Edition

Old school PlayStation – this is for you! Now, I’m an old school gamer myself, and Duke Nukem: Megaton Edition is one game I’m really looking forward to, why? For starters, it’s not a remastered version, or a juiced up version of the old game, it’s presented to you, AS IS. Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition comes will all of the expansion packs, and also includes the  the original Atomic edition of Duke 3D. No a big fan of it, but it also features the Jetpack multiplayer which can now be played on PSN. Watch the PC version of the release trailer below:

It’s strictly for old school gamers, and those who want to forget Duke Nukem Forever! (No pun intended.. but see what I did there?). While the PC version has been out for a while, it’s now time for the PlayStation gamers to kick some @ss!

Duke Nukem: Megaton Edition is set to release on 14th January 2015, for the PS3 and PS Vita

#2. Dying Light

Dying Light is an action survival game presented in first-person perspective. The game is set in a vast and dangerous open world. During the day, you roam an urban environment devastated by a mysterious epidemic, scavenging for supplies and crafting weapons to help you defeat the hordes of mindless, flesh-hungry enemies the plague has created. At night, the hunter becomes the prey as the infected grow in strength and aggression – but even more lethal are the nocturnal, inhuman predators that leave their nests to feed. You will need to make use of all your skills and any available means to survive till dawn.

While the game certainly has peaked interest amongst many gamers, especially the ones who love the survival-horror genre. With it’s vast open world, combined with parkour-style movement, co-op, the ability to craft your weapons, and brutal visceral combat, this is one game we cannot afford to miss…and can’t wait for it as well!

Dying Light is set to release on 27th of January for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One

#1. Grand Theft Auto V for PC

Well, if there was ever any doubt, this is our most anticipated game of January 2015! Grand Theft Auto V or GTA V, if you prefer, for the PC!

While there’s enough and more said about how great this game is, it’s worth noting that the visuals are going to be slightly better compared to the PS4 and Xbox One, and a first person mode as well. The PC will also support 4K.

Grand Theft Auto V for PC is releasing on 27th and January March 24th 2015

In Addition…

There’s also Resident Evil HD Remaster (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One) releasing on 20th January, and Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires (PC, PS3, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Xbox One) releasing on the 30th of January!

Overall, 2015 January seems to have started off on a great note. Here’s hoping it’s really sets the pace for the rest of the year!
